The Entryway "A window to the
soul of your Home "
The entryway is the first and last room your guests see, so creating a welcoming and memorable space is important - starting with the porch. You’ve heard that your eyes are the window to your soul. . . your entryway should be the window to your home, regardless of its size. It should reflect your home’s style and create a point from which all the other rooms flow. Decorating choices can play a large role in creating a warm and welcoming feeling.
In reality though, entryways can quickly become “drop zones”. Car keys, purses, grocery bags and backpacks — not to mention mail, cell phones, and shoes, coats and scarves — all end up being carried into this space. Guests to your home are often squeezed in the mix of many everyday items.
Meeting your family’s needs with an area for controlling the clutter of everyday life and being an appealing place if guests come by, is a lot to ask of one small space we call the “Entryway.”
Here are some photos from the Houzz.com site showing built-in cabinets that are beautiful and functional for helping the clutter that can gather in the Entryway of your home.
